Pakistan pays for Russian oil in Chinese Yuan

June 12, 2023 (MLN): Pakistan has paid for its first import of Russian crude in Chinese Yuan, as reported by Reuters.

The first cargo of discounted Russian crude oil arranged under a new deal struck between Islamabad and Moscow arrived in Karachi on Sunday. It is currently being offloaded at the port.

The deal is part of Pakistan's efforts to diversify its energy sources and reduce its dependence on Middle Eastern oil.
