April 16, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan is embarking on a journey of national digital transformation, as stated by Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja.
Speaking at the Leaders in Islamabad Business Summit, she emphasized that the country's large youth population is a valuable asset, and the government remains committed to empowering them.
She shared that youth across the country will be equipped with employable skills through training in low, medium, and high-tech courses.
The government also plans to use technology as a tool to expand access to skill development programs for a wider audience, according to the press release.
Shaza Fatima Khawaja announced that Pakistan will host a two-day Digital Foreign Direct Investment Summit later this month.
The event is being organized in collaboration with the Digital Corporation Organization of Saudi Arabia and is expected to attract over 300 international participants.
Additionally, the Minister noted that the Islamabad IT Park is scheduled for inauguration on 14th August this year.
She added that plans are also underway to finalize a proposal for an IT park in South Punjab.
In a separate event held in Islamabad, the IT Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to digital literacy.
She revealed that 250 e-rozgaar centers are planned to be established nationwide within the year.
