Pakistan, AIIB discuss development push, Panda Bond plans

April 24, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan is looking to move forward with its inaugural Panda Bond issuance this year, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb told Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) President Jin Liqun during a meeting on the sidelines of the IMF–World Bank Spring Meetings.
Aurangzeb thanked the AIIB for its continued support toward Pakistan’s socio-economic development, emphasizing the importance of the Bank’s financing in current and planned infrastructure projects.
The minister expressed Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the AIIB and underscored the government’s intent to maintain the momentum of engagement with the multilateral lender.
Discussions also focused on investment pipelines and upcoming funding initiatives aimed at driving inclusive growth and development across the country.
