Pakistan achieves positive results in technical level talks with IMF

November 15, 2023 (MLN): The efforts made by the Government of Pakistan in meeting various quarterly targets set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under the SBA have resulted in positive conclusion of the technical level talks, IMF Mission Chief for Pakistan Nathan Porter stated today.

The IMF Mission Chief and IMF Resident Representative for Pakistan Ms Esther Perez Tuiz met with Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar for negotiations at the technical levels under the first review of the SBA.

Nathan Porter stated that both the teams have had extensive talks on various aspects of the SBA.

He appreciated the role played by the Finance Minster and her team and Governor SBP along with his team in technical level talks.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Government's enduring commitment to the reform efforts agreed with the IMF, as these aim to stabilize Pakistan's economy in the long run.
