Pak Rupee loses over 11 paisa against USD

October 24, 2024 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by 11.42 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar in Thursday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 277.84 per USD, compared to previous closing of 277.73.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 277.90 and a low (ask) of 277.80.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR fell 62.32 paisa or 0.21% against the Euro, closing at 300.08 compared to the previous value of 299.46.

Against the British Pound, PKR deteriorated by 32.86 paisa or 0.09% to 360.40 compared to 360.07 a day ago.

The local unit weakened 72.29 paisa or 0.23% against Swiss franc to close at 320.78.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value depreciated 0.27 paisa or 0.15% to close the session at 1.8256 versus 1.8229 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee fell 9.30 paisa or 0.24% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.07 from 38.98.

The local currency depreciated by 2.25 paisa or 0.03% against Saudi Riyal to 73.98. While it weakened by 3.11 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 75.64.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has strengthened against the US Dollar by 49.89 paisa or 0.18%. While it has gained 4.02 rupees or 1.45% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates fell by 19 bps to 13.99% and 14.24%.
