Overseas Pakistanis remit USD 2 Billion in October 2019

Nov 12, 2019 (MLN): Overseas Pakistanis remitted USD 2 billion in the month of October 2019 compared to USD 1.75 billion in September 2019 showing an increase of USD 252.85 million over the previous month.

However, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan the remittances decreased by USD 59.57 million when compared to October 2018.

The total amount remitted during July-October FY20 was USD 7.4789 billion compared to USD 7.6180 billion from the corresponding period of FY19 which showed a decrease of USD -139.06 million or -1.83 percent.

Saudi Arabia was the largest source of remittances having contributed USD 468.18 million followed by UAE with USD 398.96 million and U.K. providing USD 328.69 million.
