Opening Bell: KSE-100 Index recovers by over 600 points

January 26, 2023 (MLN): Pakistan stock exchange (PSX) on Thursday opened on a bullish note as investors responded positively to the Finance Minister’s statement for the revival of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) ninth review.

This led the KSE-100 index to gain over 600 points or 1.50% [10:40 PST] so far. The index is currently trading at a 40,380.54 points level.

To note, the IMF's funding of $1.2 billion will reduce the uncertainty in the country and increase inflows from other countries as well.

Sector-wise, commercial banks, cement, fertilizer, miscellaneous, and refinery have witnessed the maximum gains so far.

Scrip-wise, CNERGY, HBL, SNGP, MLCF, MEBL, DGKC, and BOP observed the highest-buying activity.
