May 21, 2024 (MLN):  The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has determined the revenue requirements for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) for the fiscal year 2024-25.

Accordingly, the authority has recommended an average prescribed price per MMBTU of gas at Rs1635.90, a decrease of Rs. 179.17 per MMBTU. For SNGPL, the prescribed price will record a 10% adjustment.

The financial impact of the previous year’s shortfall, amounting to Rs580,585 million, has been calculated by OGRA.

However, SNGPL’s additional claim of Rs862,612m, as per their petition, has been referred to the Federal Government for an appropriate policy decision and is not included in this determination.

Meanwhile, the average prescribed price for SSGC has been set at Rs1401.25 per MMBTU, showing a decrease of Rs59.23 per MMBTU. This corresponds to a 4% reduction in the prescribed price for SSGC.

In addition, OGRA has requested the Federal Government to provide advice on category-wise sale prices.

Any revisions advised by the Federal Government will be notified accordingly by OGRA.

Until such time, the existing category-wise natural gas sale prices will continue to prevail.
