LSMI output decreases by 5.91% during 1QFY20

November 22, 2019 (MLN): The overall output of Large Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) decreased by 5.91% during the quarter of July-Sep, FY2020, as compared to the same period of the previous year.

According to the data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the sectors showing growth during the quarter include Textile, Fertilizers, Electronics, Leather Products, Engineering Products, and Rubber Products.

On the contrary, sectors showing a decline during the quarter include Food, Beverages and Tobacco, Coke and Petroleum Products, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Non-metallic mineral products, Automobiles, Iron and Steel Products, Paper and Board, and Wood Products.

The LSMI output decreased by 5.63% in September, 2019, as compared to the same month in the previous year, and increased by 1.92% as compared to the previous month.
