Kot Addu Power Company secures NEPRA approval for TPPA

May 20, 2025 (MLN): Kot Addu Power Company Limited (PSX: KAPCO) has disclosed that the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has granted approval for the TriPartite Power Purchase Agreement (TPPA) through a letter addressed to the Central Power Purchasing Agency (Guarantee) Limited (CPPA-G).

The agreement is between the CPPA-G, the Company, and National Grid Company of Pakistan Limited along with the schedules.

The directions of NEPRA, as stipulated in its letter dated May 19, 2025, are to be complied with for signing of the TPPA, the company's filing on PSX revealed today. 

These include the conduct of the Initial Capacity Test (ICT) and the Heat Rate Test (HRT) for benchmarking efficacy.

An Independent Engineer is to evaluate and determine Simple Cycle Efficiency/Heat Rate numbers, which are to be submitted before NEPRA along with the ICT and HRT Reports.

Thereafter, the TPPA will become effective for operations of the Power Plant.
