K-electric seeks a massive hike of Rs4.9 per unit in electricity tariff

June 08, 2022 (MLN): K-electric, on Tuesday submitted a request to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) seeking another hike of Rs4.86 in tariff under fuel adjustment charges.
As per the application submitted to Nepra, the power company has requested an additional collection of Rs4.859/unit from power consumers for April’22, as they paid less than the actual power generation cost, especially in view of costly imported gas and oil in April 2022.
The power company has also requested an increase of Rs4.52 under quarterly adjustment for January to March 2022.
A hearing in this regard will be held on June 14, 2022.
On May 27, 2022, Nepra approved a Rs4.8269 per unit increase in tariff of K-Electric for March under monthly FCA.
