IT Minister urges Saudi Arabia to ease visa process for Pakistani tech companies

July 26, 2024 (MLN): Highlighting Saudi Arabia as an attractive market for Pakistani tech companies, IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja called for the facilitation of Pakistani IT companies, registered with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), to obtain visas and traveling to Saudi Arabia.

According to a press statement issued yesterday, she made these remarks during a high-level meeting with the Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy.

Matters of mutual interest and enhancing ties in IT and Telecom sector between the two countries were discussed in the meeting. Minister of State for IT Shaza Fatima said Pakistan aspired to boost its relations with Saudi Arabia in the field of IT and Telecommunication.

Shaza Fatima said that Pakistan also wanted jointly work with Saudi Arabia in the field of cybersecurity.

Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy said that Saudi Arabia will fully cooperate with Pakistan in the field of IT and Telecommunication.

He also ensured to support and facilitate Pakistani tech companies in getting visas and travelling. Director General International Coordination, MoITT Syed Jawwad Ali Sherazi was also present in the meeting.
