KIBOR hikes by 91bps

November 28, 2022 (MLN): In the backdrop of the increased policy rate by 100 basis points to 16% on Friday, the Karachi Inter Bank Offer Rates (KIBOR) rate has jumped by 91 basis points (bps).

Accordingly, in six months KIBOR has increased by 91 bps to 16.81%, and one-year KIBOR surged by 90 bps to 17.09%.

In FYTD, six months KIBOR moved up by 148 bps and one year by 138 bps.

Moreover, on the interest rate hike, investors at the Pakistan Stock Exchange remained pessimist as the benchmark KSE-100 index lost over 800 points in early trade of today’s session.

Moreover, the bonds have witnessed a 40-60 bps increase in the secondary market.
