Imports of medicinal products fall by 8.54% in 3Qs

April 21, 2020: The imports of various medicinal products during the first three quarters of the current fiscal year declined by 8.54 percent as compared to the corresponding period of last year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.

Pakistan imported medicinal products worth $756.694 million in July-March (2019-20) as compared to the imports of $827.343 million in July-March (2018-19), according to the latest data of PBS.

Meanwhile, on year-on-year basis, the imports of medicinal products declined by 6.07 percent in March 2020 compared to the imports of March 2019.

The medicinal imports in March 2020 were recorded at $78.891 million against the imports of $83.990 million in March 2019.

On month-on-month basis, the medicinal products imports into the country declined by 9.34 percent in March 2020 when compared to the imports of $87.020 million in February 2020, the PBS data revealed.
