IMF applauds Pakistan's efforts to stabilize economy

December 02, 2023 (MLN): The efforts of the caretaker federal government of Pakistan to maintain economic stability and timely implementation of reforms did not go unnoticed as Kristalina Georgieva Managing Director (MD) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) commended Pakistan’s government on Friday.

Pakistan's economic performance was discussed during an informal meeting between Kristalina Georgieva Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on the sidelines of the COP28 summit.

“Met with Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar at COP28,” Kristalina Georgieva wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter on Friday.

“We discussed commendable progress made by the government to maintain economic stability and timely implementation of planned reforms,” she added.
