Govt to spend amount of Rs469bn on development projects

July 23, 2021: Government will spend Rs469billion on infrastructure modernizing projects for accelerating growth.

An amount of over Rs228bn have been earmarked for energy sector projects during current fiscal year while Rs90.313bn for water sector projects.

The government has allocated Rs14,000million for efficient implementation of the first phase of "Ten Billion Trees Tsunami Programme".

Modern, efficient and connected transport infrastructure networks are positively associated with development and rapid growth.

For transport and logistics sector, Rs173.8bn were allocated during last fiscal year, of which Rs127.6bn have been utilized.

An amount of Rs302bn has been earmarked for the development programme of the transport and logistics in the current fiscal year.
