June 10, 2020: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce & Investment Abdul Razak Dawood has said the Government is working to construct dams to provide cheap electricity to people.

Talking to a private TV channel, he said the price of electricity in the country has been too high for the last thirty years and the availability of cheap electricity to the masses is needed.

Razak Dawood expressed hope that the matter of Independent Power Producers (IPPs) will be resolved soon.

The adviser said the upcoming budget of 2020-21 will be different from the past as COVID-19 has caused a huge gap in the imports and exports leading to a decrease in revenue.

He said the government is paying full attention to increase the exports.
