Govt reduces petrol price by Rs 1/litre

March 29, 2025 (MLN): The federal government has reduced the petrol price by Rs1 per litre to Rs254.63 per litre for the next fortnight, according to a Friday notification issued by the Finance Division.

However, the government kept the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) unchanged at Rs258.64 per litre.

"The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has worked out the consumer prices of petroleum products, based on the price variations in the international market," the notification reads.

As per the notification, the revised prices will take effect on March 29.

Previously, the federal government decided to keep petroleum product prices unchanged.
