October 16, 2022 (MLN): The government on Saturday kept fuel prices unchanged for the upcoming fortnight, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced in a video message.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) had recommended a slight cut in petrol prices while proposing an increase in the prices of diesel, kerosene oil and light diesel oil (LDO).

To note, the refining margins on all products other than the petrol are trading at higher level across the world due to confluence of multiple factors including lower refining capacity.

The Ogra had suggested a Rs10 per litre reduction in petrol prices while proposing an increase of Rs11 per litre in diesel and Rs4.52 in kerosene and Rs7.48 in LDO.

For the next 15 days, the prices petrol have been set at Rs224.80 per litre, diesel Rs235.30 per litre, kerosene oil Rs191.83 per litre and LDO Rs186.50 per litre.

To note, the government had proposed a cut in prices of petroleum products by up to Rs12.6 per litre effective from October 1.
