Govt imposes 10% fee on Afghan transit goods

October 04, 2023 (MLN): The caretaker government has imposed a 10% processing fee on five major categories of Afghan transit commercial goods imported into Afghanistan via Pakistan, the latest notification issued by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) showed yesterday.

As per the notification, these goods include confectionaries & chocolates, footwear, mechanical and electrical machinery, blankets, and home textile products, and garments under the Afghan transit trade.

The provisions of this notification will not be applicable on the Afghan Tmnsi Goods Declarations (AT-GDs) filed prior to the issuance of this notification.
