Govt announces Rs9.66 per litre rise in petrol prices

March 31, 2024 (MLN): The federal government has hiked the price of petrol by Rs9.66 per litre to Rs289.41, said a notification issued by the Finance Division.

Conversely, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been reduced by Rs3.32 to Rs282.24 per litre.

The new prices will remain in effect for the first half of April, 2024 and are based on the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

To recall, in the previous fortnight, the government decided to keep the price of petrol unchanged at Rs279.75 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of HSD was slashed slightly by Rs1.77 to Rs285.56 per litre.
