Gold, silver prices jump in Pakistan

September 25, 2024 (MLN): The prices of precious metals, gold and silver, jumped further on Wednesday as weak US data strengthened the case for deeper interest rate cuts.

24-karat gold rose by Rs2,500 to Rs275,500 per tola in Pakistan, while the price of silver also increased by Rs100 to Rs3,050 per tola.

Globally, spot gold climbed to a record $2,670 an ounce earlier today, before paring its gains. A report on Tuesday showed US consumer confidence this month fell the most in three years.

The Karachi Sarafa Association reported the price of 24-karat gold at Rs236,197 per 10-gram, up Rs2,144.

Similarly, the price of 22-karat gold was quoted higher at Rs216,514 per 10-gram.
