Gold rises by Rs650 per tola

December 14, 2021 (MLN): The demand for gold surged today in the domestic bullion market, as the price of 24-karat gold inched up by Rs650 to close at Rs125,100 per tola, data released by Karachi Sarafa and Jewellers Association showed.

Similarly, the price of 10-gram of 24k gold also inched up by Rs557 and was traded at Rs107,253 while the 10gm 22k gold was valued at Rs98,315.

On the contrary, the price of 24-karat silver remained stagnant at Rs1,460. Likewise, the price of 10-gram silver stayed flat at Rs1,251.71.

In the international market, gold rates rose by $20 to $1,788 an ounce as Fed's bond tapering announcement was much in line with the market expectations. Meanwhile, silver was traded at $22.24 an ounce.
