Gold price surges to $1,864 an ounce on weaker US dollar

December 08, 2020 (MLN): Gold prices rebounded on Tuesday as the greenback weakened across the board. The price of gold in the international market reached $1864, up by $33 while white metal was pegged at $33 an ounce.

Breaking its losing streak, gold prices jumped in the domestic bullion market, as the price of 24 karat gold surged by Rs 1300 to Rs 111,300 per tola. The precious yellow metal of 24-Karat had closed at Rs 110,000 per tola yesterday.

According to the data released by the All Sindh Saraf Jewellers Association, the price of 10-gram gold also increased by Rs 1,115 to Rs 95,422 against the price of Rs 94,307 reported in the previous session.

On the other hand, the price of silver tola and 10-gram silver remained static at Rs 1,220 and Rs 1,045.95 respectively, the association reported.
