Gold price inches up by Rs300 per tola

December 26, 2023 (MLN): 24-karat gold price in Pakistan increased by Rs300 per tola to Rs219,600.

The Karachi Sarafa Association reported that the price of 10-gram 24-karat gold in Monday's session was at Rs188,272, reflecting a gain of Rs258 for the day.

While the price of 10-gram 22-karat gold stood at Rs172,582.

To note, 24-karat gold rose by Rs2,500 per tola last week.

The price of silver remained unchanged in today's session, with 24-karat silver and 10-gram 24-karat silver sold at Rs2,650 and Rs 2,271.94.

On the global front, the international spot gold is currently trading at $2,064.23, up by 0.46% on the day.

Meanwhile, international spot silver is currently trading at $24.35, marking an increase of 0.53% on the day.

In addition to fluctuations in international prices, the domestic gold market is also influenced by changes in the interbank exchange rate of the local currency.

The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) is set to extend its winning streak against the mighty dollar, currently trading at PKR 282.5 per USD.
