January 10, 2025 (MLN): Gold price in Pakistan increased on Friday, with 24-karat gold being sold at Rs279,400 per tola, up Rs1,100.

Similarly, 24-karat gold per 10-gram was sold at Rs239,540 after a gain of Rs943, according to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

The price of 22-karat gold was also quoted higher at Rs219,579 per 10-gram.

On the other hand, silver prices remained unchanged in the domestic market, with 24-karat silver being sold at Rs3,350 per tola and Rs2,872 per 10-gram.

Globally, spot gold traded near $2,679 an ounce, up $8.9 or 0.33% from the previous session.

Gold prices scaled a four-week peak on Friday and were set for their best week in seven, driven by safe-haven demand amid uncertainties over President-elect Donald Trump's policies, while markets awaited jobs data for clues on the trajectory of U.S. interest rates.
