Gas rates for industry hiked by 9%

July 02, 2024 (MLN): The government on Sunday increased gas rates for industrial captive power units by Rs250 or 9.1% per unit with effect from July 01, 2024.
Accordingly, the new price now stands at Rs3,000 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) from the current Rs2,750.
The decision was taken at a special meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) presided over by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.
