FX reserves dip by $115mn in a week

May 06, 2022 (MLN): The total liquid foreign exchange reserves held by the country decreased by $115 million or 0.7% WoW to stand at $16.55bn as of the week ended on April 30, 2022, compared to $16.67bn in the previous week, weekly data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Friday showed.

The data further revealed that reserves held by the central bank during the week dipped by $59 million or 0.6% WoW to clock in at $10.5bn, mainly due to external debt payments.

Similarly, the reserves of commercial banks went down by $56mn or 0.9% WoW to $6bn.
