Fuel prices expected to decline in March 2FN

March 13, 2025 (MLN): A significant decline in fuel prices is expected for March 2FN, according to the latest price projections based on three days of Platts data with seven days remaining.

The ex-refinery prices per liter are anticipated to see a notable drop, with PMG/Petrol decreasing from Rs173.33 to Rs159.17 (-14.16), HSD/Diesel from Rs178.90 to Rs170.20 (-8.70), Kerosene from Rs158.56 to Rs148.23 (-10.33), and LDO from Rs148.59 to Rs141.47 (-7.12).

Likewise, the ex-depot sale prices per liter are projected to experience a substantial decline, with PMG/Petrol falling from Rs255.63 to Rs241.47 (-14.16), HSD/Diesel from Rs258.64 to Rs249.94 (-8.70), Kerosene from Rs168.12 to Rs157.79 (-10.33), and LDO from Rs153.34 to Rs146.22 (-7.12).

The basis for these local prices includes calculations based on current government taxes, IFEM adjustments (which may be HSD IFEM), and zero exchange rate adjustments.

Additionally, the PMG Premium stands at $6.69 per barrel, with three days remaining in the Platts pricing assessment.
