Foreign investors dump Rs12.78mn worth of securities in a week

February 05, 2022 (MLN): Foreign investors sold Rs12.78 million worth of securities duirng the week ended January 28, 2022, whereas last week, the accounts observed a net purchase of Rs709.63 million.

According to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the gross sale of securities during the week was recorded at Rs.3.4 billion, which is around 69.8 percent lower than the figures recorded last week. Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs.3.4 billion, which is 72.9 percent lower than the prior week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities declined by Rs.9.17 billion while the net sale of securities tumbled by Rs.7.9 billion.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs.984.44 million, while its outflow has been reported at Rs.1.42 billion.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs.32.67 billion, which marks a decline of Rs.1.27 billion over the week.
