February 05, 2023 (MLN): The Finance Minister of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, criticized the former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, for his recent tweet, which Dar considers irresponsible and potentially harmful to the country’s security and political stability.

Dar blames Khan for the decline of the Pakistani economy from 24th largest in the world to 47th, attributing it to factors such as incompetence, corruption, mismanagement, and debt accumulation.

Irresponsible tweet of @imrankhanPTI is designed only to damage the country’s security situation and vitiare the political atmosphere. His destruction of Pak Economy from World’s 24th largest to 47th in 2022 speaks volumes of bad governance, incompetence, unprecedented debt…1/4 https://t.co/uLluQ3b2tN

As a result, Dar claims inflation has risen and caused hardship for the people.

The FM contrasts Khan with the current Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, who Dar views as a more responsible and level-headed leader.

Dar mentions that Sharif invited Khan to participate in a national dialogue on security, but was disappointed by Khan’s response.

Dar suggests that Khan is self-interested and has a negative view of the country, and would rather see it fail than be in opposition.
