July 04, 2022 (MLN): Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFC) informed that the fire erupted at its Mirpur Mathelo plant site on 3rd July 2022, around 11 pm, which was extinguished immediately by adopting safety and emergency procedures (SOP), a press released showed on Monday.

No personnel was affected during this event.

As per the initial report, a fire occurred in the gas vessel of the ammonia unit. The plant was immediately shut down to investigate the matter in detail and plan the maintenance works to put the plant back in operation, it added.

Some hours ago, the company issued a notice to PSX wherein it said that its Mirpur Mathelo plant III has been temporarily shut down due to a technical fault.

The plant has a capacity of 718k tons/annum representing 35% of the total capacity.
