Fertilizer offtake improves by 34.5% in February

March 20, 2020 (MLN): Total nutrient offtake during February 2020 was about 320 thousand tonnes, showing an increase of 34.5 per cent over February 2019. Nitrogen offtake increased by 26.3 per cent. Phosphate and potash offtake also increased 87.6 and 65.7 per cent.
Total fertilizer nutrient offtake during Rabi 2019-20 (October-February) was about 2038 thousand tonnes, which decreased by 3.1 per cent compared with same time frame of last Rabi (2018-19). Nitrogen offtake decreased by 2.1 per cent, phosphate offtake decreased by 5.8 per cent, while potash offtake decreased by 0.5 per cent.
Production of all fertilizer products during February 2020 was about 641 thousand tonnes. Out of this urea production was 462 thousand tonnes which is 72 per cent of total production.
