FBR, US Embassy discuss new tax provisions for beverage industry in Pakistan

February 17, 2023 (MLN): The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the United States of America (USA) embassy met on Friday to discuss new tax provisions for the beverage industry, according to a press release issued by FBR.

During the meeting, the Chairman of FBR Mr. Asim Ahmad highlighted the areas of cooperation between the two countries in terms of trade and business facilitation.

The meeting was attended by representatives of various companies from the beverage industry, who raised their concerns regarding the new tax provisions. The SAPM (Revenue) and Chairman FBR assured the representatives that their concerns would be addressed on a priority basis.

In addition, the SAPM appreciated the US engagement with Pakistan in the economic, financial, and revenue areas and vowed to further strengthen the ongoing cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting between FBR and the US embassy comes as Pakistan seeks to bolster its trade relations and encourage foreign investment to promote economic growth.
