Economy starts showing signs of recovery in wake of weakening coronavirus: Hafeez Sheikh

August 21, 2020: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance Abdul Hafeez Sheikh has said the economy has started showing signs of recovery in the wake of a weakening coronavirus pandemic in the country.
Addressing a webinar organized by Karachi Council on Foreign Relations, he said this is also reflected by various indicators including a robust growth of Pakistan Stock Exchange, thirty-three percent increase in sales of cement and twenty three percent growth of taxes during the last month.
He said the international bodies including Moody's have also acknowledged stability returning to various sectors of economy.
