ECC to review claims of Coniston Company against Pakistan Steel Mills

February 12, 2020 (MLN): A meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet will be held today, i.e. February 12, 2020, with Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue in the chair.

Amongst many important issues, the committee shall discuss;

  • Arrest of Pakistan National Shipping Corporation Ships in South Africa on account of alleged claims of Coniston against Pakistan Steel Mills
  • Amendments in Import Policy Order, 2016, to allow import of Controlled Chemicals by Commercial Importers
  • Amendment in the Import Policy Order
  • Gas/RLNG Supply to Export Oriented Sectors which include Textiles, Carpets, Leather, Sports and Surgical Goods
  • Fuel price adjustment being charged from farmers and its possible resolution
  • Subsidy for Agricultural Tubewell Consumers in Baluchistan
  • Approval of technical supplementary grant of Rs. 1 billion for creation of Pakistan Tourism Development Endowment Fund
