ECC meeting postponed to Friday

May 2, 2019 (MLN): A meeting of Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet, which was to be held today, will now take place on Friday i.e. May 3, 2019. The Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs will chair the meeting.

The committee shall discuss the following important agendas amongst others:

  • Appointment of Transaction Advisory Consortium (TAC) for revival of Pakistan Steel Mills
  • Approval of supplementary grant of Rs. 11.12 billion, equal to $80 million (2nd and 3rd tranche) of credit line of $150 million obtained from World Bank for Pakistan Mortgage Refinance Company Limited
  • Approval of the Budget proposal for the year 2018-19 and revised budget estimate for 2017-18 of EOBI
  • Allocation of Gas from Thal East # 01, bhambhra # 01, and Thal West # 01 fields to SSGCL

The Committee shall also evaluate price of Petroleum products after receiving recommendations from OGRA regarding hike in prices. This was to be done by the Federal Cabinet on its meeting held on April 30, but the Prime Minister directed ECC to review the same in order to pass minimum burden to the people.
