Dollar closes at all-time high

July 20, 2020 (MLN): The US Dollar closed the trading session on Monday at an all-time high of 168.30 against Pakistani rupee in the interbank market.

Previously, the highest recorded close was on June 29, 2020 at 168.1895.

Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by 97 paisa against US Dollar (USD) in today's interbank session to PKR 168.3 per USD, compared to previous session's closing of PKR 167.33 per USD.

The Rupee saw moderate volatility in today’s session and traded in a range of 1.19 rupees per USD showing an intraday high bid of 168.55 and an intraday Low offer of 167.46.

Within the Open Market, PKR was traded at 167.20/168.20 per USD.

Meanwhile, the currency lost 1.9 rupees to the Pound Sterling as the day's closing quote stood at PKR 211.76 per GBP, while the previous session closed at PKR 209.89 per GBP.

Similarly, PKR's value weakened by 2.4 rupees against EUR which closed at PKR 192.91 at the interbank today.

On another note, within the money market, the overnight repo rate towards the close of the session was 6.50/6.70 percent, whereas the 1-week rate was 6.90/7.05 percent.
