DAP offtake drops by 61 YoY in June-21

July 27, 2021 (MLN): The total DAP offtake during the month of June 2021 was recorded at 68 thousand tonnes, registering a decrease of 61.3 percent as compared to the offtake of 176 thousand tonnes in June 2020.

According to the monthly report issued by National Fertilizer Development Centre (NFDC), the cumulative DAP offtake during Kharif 2020-21 (April-June) was 287 thousand tonnes which reported a 26 percent decline when compared with the same time frame of the previous season.

Province-wise, DAP offtake significantly decreased by 53, 71, 79 and 92 percent in Punjab, Sindh, KP and Balochistan, respectively over June, 2020.

The total availability of DAP during June 2021 was 415 thousand tonnes comprising an opening balance of 131 thousand tonnes, imported supplies of about 209 thousand tonnes and local production of 75 thousand tonnes. Offtake was 68 thousand tonnes. The closing balance of DAP worked out to be 347 thousand tonnes.
