Closing Bell: KSE-100 index falls 2.63 points, declines by 0.01 percent

KSE100 Index ended Thursday’s trading session with a 2.63 points decline (-0.01%) to close at 45,905.76 as volume declined to reach 158.81 million shares traded.

The index was erratic in the first few hours of trading; the KSE-100 index went down in the first few hours and went on to recover the prices. The index was relatively positive for the most hours.

The activity has been subdued due to the lack of activity from investors. The market is eagerly awaiting the impending news from the Supreme Court which is yet to give a decision on the future of Pakistan’s Prime Minister. The volume has been continuously declining in the last few weeks ever since the JIT and the Panama case has taken headlines in the news.

The KSE-100 net change in the last two sessions has been -12.14 points.

Market lost a total of 2.63 points or a decline of -0.01% during today’s session. The index touched an intra-day low of 45758.21 points, a high of 46025.07 and closed at a tally of 45905.76 points.

The net gainers by price during today’s session were; Nestle Pakistan NESTLE +500.00, Rafhan Maize Products Limited RMPL +350.00, Sapphire Textiles SAPT +80.00, Indus Motor Company INDU +34.84 and Abbott Laboratories ABOT +28.42.

The net decliners by price during today’s session were; Archroma Pakistan ARPL -38.57, JDW Sugar Mills JDWS -21.15, Service Industries Limited SRVI -20.00, Millat Tractors Limited MTL -12.81 and Packages Limited PKGS -11.30.

All Share Volume decreased by 16.92 Million to 158.81 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.22.02 Billion.

Total companies traded were 365 same as previous session. Of the scrips traded 127 closed up, 219 closed down while 19 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 13,543 to 59,833.

Value Traded decreased by 2.03 Billion to Rs.6.23 Billion
