April 30, 2020 (MLN): The KSE-100 index rose again by 952 points to settle at 34,111- level on last trading day of the week following the global markets amid recovery of crude oil prices.

On domestic front, investors were remained confident with expectation that monetary easing may be around the corner on the back of lower anticipated inflation figures of April'20 along with high expectation of reduction in POL prices which would help in reducing inflation figures in coming months.

The Index remained positive throughout the session touching an intraday high of 34,178.43

Of the 95 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 87 closed up while 8 closed down. Total volume traded for the index was 235.68 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 308 points, Commercial Banks with 137 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 94 points, Fertilizer with 87 points and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 84 points.

The most points added to the index was by OGDC which contributed 105 points followed by PPL with 93 points, HUBC with 82 points, POL with 64 points and MCB with 50 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Tobacco with 15 points, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 8 points, Miscellaneous with 2 points and Real Estate Investment Trust with 1 points.

The most points taken off the index was by PAKT which stripped the index of 12 points followed by DAWH with 11 points, PSEL with 9 points, SYS with 3 points and PMPK with 2 points.

All Share Volume increased by 151.61 Million to 292.09 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.152.65 Billion.

Total companies traded were 367 compared to 342 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 284 closed up, 73 closed down while 10 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 35,008 to 109,985.

Value Traded increased by 4.72 Billion to Rs.12.42 Billion
