September 27, 2019 (MLN): After a series of mediocre, lackluster performances, the KSE-100 finally ended today’s session on a cheer-worthy note as it gained 636 points and closed at 32,070-mark. On a weekly basis, the index lost merely 41 points as the previous week closed at 32,111-mark.

The index was majorly pumped by certain portfolio managers who, considering it is the end of quarter, purposefully invested funds in chosen stocks in a quest to window dress them.

The Index traded in a range of 716.93 points or 2.28 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 32,085.74 and a low of 31,368.81.

Of the 91 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 77 closed up 12 closed down, while 2 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 107.32 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 182 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 136 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 61 points, Fertilizer with 57 points and Cement with 49 points.

The most points added to the index was by HBL which contributed 74 points followed by OGDC with 51 points, UBL with 46 points, PPL with 45 points and HUBC with 39 points.

All Share Volume increased by 10.69 Million to 135.16 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.94.88 Billion.

Total companies traded were 344 compared to 359 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 249 closed up, 76 closed down while 19 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 4,886 to 44,843.

Value Traded increased by 0.73 Billion to Rs.4.25 Billion
