China, Pakistan reinforce All-Weather Strategic Partnership

February 07, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and China reaffirmed their All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, emphasizing its deep historical roots and broad support from both nations.

This commitment was reinforced during President Asif Ali Zardari’s meetings with Chinese leadership in Beijing, including President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Zhao Leji.

The Chinese side reiterated that the China-Pakistan relationship is a priority in its foreign relations, holding special significance in Beijing's foreign policy.

Pakistan expressed strong support for President Xi Jinping’s Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative.

Both nations agreed to enhance international cooperation to address global challenges and work together toward building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind.

China welcomed Pakistan's National Economic Transformation Plan, Uraan, and commended the country's progress in economic reform and national development.

It expressed hope for Pakistan's continued stability, security, growth, and prosperity, according to the press release.

The two sides reaffirmed unwavering support for each other on issues relating to their core interests and major concerns.

China reiterated its strong backing of Pakistan’s efforts to safeguard national security, stability, development, and prosperity.

Both countries agreed to enhance high-level interactions, foster cooperation across different sectors, and deepen discussions on governance.

They also reaffirmed their zero-tolerance stance on terrorism in all its forms and pledged to strengthen both bilateral and multilateral counter-terrorism efforts.

Pakistan committed to continuing its efforts to investigate terrorist attacks involving Chinese personnel and to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Additionally, Pakistan will bolster security measures to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions.

China commended Pakistan’s steadfast efforts and significant sacrifices in combating terrorism and expressed willingness to support Pakistan’s capacity-building in counter-terrorism.
