Cement exports surge 12% YoY during 4MFY21

November 19, 2020 (MLN): Cement exports during the month of October 2020 surged by 20.3% YoY and 19.65% MoM to USD 33.25 million from USD27.6 million in Oct’19 and USD27.8 million recorded in the previous month.

The rise in exports can be attributed to resumption in economic activities in Bangladesh, SriLanka and major African markets impelling clinker/cement demand.

In terms of quantity, the exports of cement increased by 24.7% MoM from 820,107 metric tons to 1,023,346 metric tons, whereas, on yearly basis, the quantity of cement exported jumped by 36.65% YoY from 748,878 metric tons, according to the data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

On a cumulative basis, the Cement exports during 4MFY20 surged by 12% YoY from USD94.4 million to USD 105.54 million.
