Power cuts disrupt Ufone services nationwide

April 17, 2026 (MLN): Ufone customers could experience intermittent service disruptions due to ongoing nationwide electricity load shedding.

Prolonged power outages, often lasting up to eight hours or more, are affecting the telecom sector’s ability to maintain uninterrupted connectivity.

The company said its urban telecom infrastructure is supported by backup battery systems to ensure service continuity during power failures.

However, these systems require at least three to four hours of continuous electricity supply to fully recharge backup battery banks.

Frequent power outages are interrupting charging cycles and reducing backup capacity at cell sites. Services are expected to normalize once electricity supply stabilizes.
