CCPA proposes Rs2.07per unit hike in power tariff under FCA for Aug

September 22, 2021 (MLN): Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has proposed an increase of Rs2.0719/kWh over the reference fuel charges of Rs4.7334/kWh under fuel price adjustment for the month of August 2021 for Ex-WAPDA Discos.

In this regard, a public hearing to consider the proposed adjustment will be held on September 30, 2021, by NEPRA in which all interested or affected parties are invited to raise objections as permissible under the law.

As per the petition, submitted by CPPA with National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), total energy generated in August 2021 was 16,078.09 GWh at a total price of Rs103.097 billion which was Rs6.4122 per unit. Of this, about 15.90.87 GWh were sold to the Discos at Rs106.1 billion. The sale to IPPs was reduced by 10.58 GWh, the price of which was Rs279 million while the reduction in transmission losses was recorded at 476.63 GWh.
