Bulleh Shah Packages catches fire

February 10, 2022 (MLN): Bulleh Shah Packages Limited (BSPL), located at Kasur caught fire at 06:30 PM on February 9, 2022. which engulfed the various portion of the mill, as per media reports. 

As of now, the fire has been spreading at around three to four acres. The fire incident occurred at the warehouse of BSPL.

Two factory workers were killed while around 15 workers got serious burns as a result of this massive fire break and were rushed to a nearby hospital.

As per the eyewitnesses, the fire was caused by a short circuit that burnt the fencing department entirely.

Fire tenders and ambulances were called in from Lahore and the Okara and firefighting operation is still going on till the filing of this news. 

BSPL is a 100% owned subsidiary of Packages Limited (PKGS).

Later, PKGS issued a notice and informed that the fire was brought under control using the in-house firefighting system and with the help of local administration.

The notice further stated that the cause of the accident and the extent of damage is under investigation. BSPL is also in contact
with the insurance company and taking appropriate steps to ensure an early start of the repair works.

There was no damage to key critical equipment and BSPL has contingency plans in place for continued supplies to its customers, the notice added.
