Banking sector spread drops slightly by 3bps in November

December 22, 2021 (MLN): The banking sector spread for November 2021 decreased slightly by 3 basis points (bps) over the month which brings its latest value to 4.17% as compared to the prior month's spread of 4.20%, State Bank of Pakistan's monthly data released on weighted average lending & deposit rates showed today.

Similarly, the spread has reduced by 30bps as compared to the same period last year.

As per data, the lending rate for all banks (inclusive of zero mark-ups) jumped by 10bps as it stood at 8.01%. Meanwhile, the deposit rate clocked in at 3.84%, up by 13bps over the month.
