Banking sector ADR jumps to 47.8% as of Nov 29

December 11, 2024 (MLN): The Advances to Deposit Ratio (ADR) of the banking sector jumped to 47.8% as of November 29, 2024, significantly up by 352 basis points compared to the ratio of 44.28% as of October 2024.

Meanwhile, on a yearly basis, the ADR ratio surged 316bps compared to 44.64% in November 2023.

Investment to Deposit Ratio (IDR) moved up by 29bps to 93.3% compared to last month and increased by 154 bps when compared to a year ago.

Total advances increased by 7.9% to Rs14.87tr compared to Rs13.78tr a month ago. Meanwhile, advances increased by 24.3% from their value of Rs11.96tr from a year ago.

Furthermore, scheduled bank deposits have edged down to Rs31.11 trillion as of November 29, compared to Rs31.12tr by the end of last month.

When compared to the same month of last year, banks' deposits have risen by 16.1%, compared to Rs26.8tr held in November 2023, data released by the central bank showed.

Total investments increased by 0.3% to Rs29.03tr from last month. While compared to last year, investments rose 18.1%.
