Waves restarts AC business after four-year hiatus

June 15, 2026 (MLN): Waves Home Appliances Limited (PSX: WAVESAPP) has resumed assembly operations and nationwide commercial sales of its air conditioner product line after restarting production with improved financial resources and renewed supply arrangements for imported materials.

In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company said it had reactivated its strategic relationship with a leading air conditioner kit supplier in China, which also supplies several major brands operating in Pakistan.

The first consignment of 5,000 CKD air conditioner kits has arrived, enabling assembly of both T3 and T1 models across key sizes aligned with market demand.

Distribution to the company's nationwide dealer network has already begun, with products receiving encouraging market acceptance.

The company had suspended production and sale of air conditioners and several other product lines in 2022, following country-wide import restrictions driven by macroeconomic pressures and monetary tightening, except its flagship deep freezers and refrigerators.

Revenue from the air conditioner segment will be recognised from the current quarter and is expected to contribute positively to overall profitability.

The company said the development will also pave the way for the revival of other product lines, including washing machines, microwave ovens, and water dispensers.
